Just returned from a very productive trip to Peru, where I had the opportunity to meet with top authorities from the National Institute of Statistics and Informatics (INEI), the Secretariat for Government and Digital Transformation, and the Cadastral Institute of Lima.
Our mission? To support and encourage the launch of a national unified address database — a key step toward better public services, digital transformation, and inclusion.
We’re now working toward the publication of an initial address base, with the aim of setting up a sustainable maintenance process coordinated among multiple government entities.
Once released, this data could be shared on Peru’s open data portal and also integrated into the Overture Maps Foundation, helping place Peru on the global map of open, interoperable geospatial data.
Excited for what’s to come!
